Good afternoon all,

I am unable to get past the loading screen (blue one with clouds in the background). It gets to 100% then just stays there. The task manager shows 0-.2% of the CPU load (in other words not doing anything). I am running Windows 10. I followed BIGNEWYs instructions for ensuring that all unofficial mods were removed. Still no effect. Its worth noting that this started a few days ago before the update to 2.7.

Also worth noting, I have done the "repair" function both the long and short one. No change. Also I installed Vatsim and Vatspy recently. Could those have messed with some files?

That is all I can think of.

Thank you for your time and attention

Hi @plicpriest1. Here's what happens:

2021-04-15 21:08:22.240 INFO EDCORE: (dDispatcher)enterToState_:1
2021-04-15 21:08:29.389 INFO UIBASERENDERER: Cannot load font [E:\DCS World OpenBeta\dxgui\skins\fonts\]!
2021-04-15 21:08:32.400 ALERT Dispatcher: Error starting Game GUI: [string "./MissionEditor/MissionEditor.lua"]:87: invalid order function for sorting
2021-04-15 21:08:32.401 INFO EDCORE: (dDispatcher)enterToState_:2
2021-04-15 21:08:58.074 INFO DXGUI_WIN_ADAPTER: ChangeDisplaySettings failed! Result is -1

In my startup log, the step following the font error message (which is usual) is the cleaning of this folder : "C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\DCS.openbeta\"

Try emptying this folder and see if DCS works.

Well I gave that a try. Still no luck. I certainly appreciate you taking the time for the suggestion. My quest continues

Then try renaming "C:\Users\Flav\Saved Games\DCS...\Config\options.lua" so the game cannot find it. Name it anyway you like and launch DCS.

Still no luck after this? Then rename the full Saved Games\DCS...\ folder so the game creates a brand new one.

Ok I tried both. First time had me re-login (credentials saved). No luck. Second time (rename folder) had me re-input credentials (still no luck).

So it appears as though the issue is somewhere else. How would I go about zeroing in on that? Im almost to the point of uninstalling and reinstalling DCS. However given how many modules I have, it would be a really long time to complete. So before I try the 'nuclear' option, what other options do I have?

Again thank you for your time in helping me

I've just realized your issue looks a bit like the 9+ USB devices bug. And it seems you have about 9 devices connected.

Please try this:

  1. disconnect a few USB devices
  2. start DCS
  3. if it works, re-plug your devices and try to play

For more information about this strange bug, feel free to read the whole thread. Some people have different solutions depending on how devices are connected (USB hub or not, for instance).

I’ve been having increasing issues with loading a the sim. I followed suggestions from the forum, including running the repair utility twice. Tonight in trying to load a F-18 training scenario, where  the sim was stuck at the 100% mark for over three hrs.

I noted a suggestion to a post about USB connections. As a test, I did not load my TrackerIR before launching DCS. It loaded almost immediately (well, at least quite reasonably...).

I’ll accept success gladly, but I wouldn’t think this should be an issue, particularly since it hasn’t been previously with my setup.

Hi @Dwjohn282 and thanks for your feedback. Can you please attach your log showing the eternal loading?

It's located here: C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS...\Logs\dcs.log (may appear as "dcs")
