BMGZ06 Posted April 16, 2021 Posted April 16, 2021 I found no way to interact with the LSO platform in VR but when in 2D and I use the wave off button the AI ignores it. It would be nice to have keybindings for the LSO platform if possible. I know that can be problematic since anyone could trigger them when not at the LSO platform. If I was a coder I would know if it was possible to only allow the keybindings to work when at the LSO plat view. But I am not, so I don't. Sickdog Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 I was able to control the Waveoff and Cut lights in VR, but think you need to be occupying an aircraft (or I didn’t have my cursor controls setup in the general settings/when not occupying an aircraft) and show cursor (the blue cross that you’d normally be able to interact with cockpit switches in VR), then click on the buttons you found to work in 2D. Hard to describe this, hopefully you understand, but I definitely got it to work in VR. As for AI responding to it, doesn’t surprise me! TM Warthog, TPR, TM MFDs, Pimax Crystal, AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D. Ya When I am at the PLAT cam it is when I am in a plane on deck. I only see the white cursor dot at the plat cam. The only way I have been able to activate the buttons is with the VR controllers by reaching out to use the finger to click them. I do not see the blue cross at the Plat cam at all. Using the controllers is a pain because I have to get the finger of the VR hand in just the right spot over the buttons on the PLAT terminal. I don't use my controllers in DCS, so perhaps that's the difference between our setups. Maybe try unchecking the controllers in your settings. But, I feel like their are times when I have not been able to get the blue crosshair up on the LSO station like you mentioned, so I'll try again tonight and report back. But doesn't surprise me if it's intermittent, there's so many bugs still with this 2.7, especially simple stuff like the new IFLOS popup that is now an option, yet doesn't work properly. Crazy stuff.... Edited April 20, 2021 by Sickdog little addition of my thoughts about bugs... 1 TM Warthog, TPR, TM MFDs, Pimax Crystal, AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D. Sickdog Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Ha, not my dog, but he’s either partied too hard last night or his water dish is empty. as for more testing tonight, it does appear that I couldn’t get the blue cross to appear either (now I’m wondering if I ever did have the blue cross/mouse cursor activated), but the white dot was visible and that did work when I clicked on the LSO cut light and WO buttons with my mouse button. Again, not using hand controllers. TM Warthog, TPR, TM MFDs, Pimax Crystal, AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D. ASUS ROG Crossair X670E Hero AMD X670, G Skill Trident Z5 DDR5 64GB

Again, not using hand controllers. Ya I have the white cusor dot as well but I cant click on the buttons becuase I cant get close enough to the panel to click on them. It is like there is an invisible wall blocking the cursor. I tried recentering view and zooming in but neither works. Only the controllers worked and those are finicky. dSAF Dancer Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 So to sum up this, we have waited a year for the promised waveoff lights and now we can't even use them in vr with the mouse? I have the blue cross but can't reach the buttons and can't test with controllers as I don't have them. Sickdog Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Starting to figure out what’s going on here... appears that in order to interact with the cut and W/O lights controls (at least in VR), I had to have the IFLOS overlay showing (selected in the options-> special-> carrier menu)once in game. Been consistently working for me. However, cut lights are nearly impossible to see until In Close (I have a G2, can see the meatball itself clearly), as tested between me and another multiplayer client today. Kinda defeats the point if you can’t see cut lights from farther (when used to acknowledge call the ball with zip lip). TM Warthog, TPR, TM MFDs, Pimax Crystal, AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D. VF31_Subsonic Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Well, they did provide clickable, as listed in the RN...although mapping is more useful. Be nice if they documented the requirement of the IFLOS on. Kinda makes sense why turning that option OFF did not remove it from cockpit when in the groove. Mapping likely requires a new "player position" within controls and the sim. I suspect they will get there soon. Overall the lighting after clouds does need adjustment. Overall the IFLOS lights are dimmer and the Tomcat cockpit lighting is even worse now. VF-31 Tomcatters http://www.csg-1.com/ | Discord
BMGZ06 Posted April 23, 2021 Author Posted April 23, 2021 OK so in VR I noticed I can only use the mouse to click the buttons when I deselect "use mouse" in the VR tab. Then the blue cross is present but you have to look right at the buttons and get the blue cross over them then click the mouse. Pretty weird. Honestly I am guessing ED doesn't really focus on VR interaction outside of the plane with the rest of the environment.
