hawa0835 Posted April 16, 2021 Posted April 16, 2021 When you go in for landing and unfold landing sites, NWS switches on automatically, even though you have switched them off at take-off, you must switch off NWS immediately when you land, because at the slightest movement of the pedals with NWS on, you risk to slide off the track. I have noticed that NWS cannot be switched off in the air. Does anyone know if it is possible to turn off the NWS in the air?

The logic of the NWS button changes with WoW so no, you can not disable NWS when you are in the air. Just as you can't go to ground idle with weight off wheels. I have no idea what you are referring to with (unfold landing sites)The logic has NWS turn on at touchdown with weight on wheels. IRL the NWS wouldn't be as sensitive as most would have it in the sim as we don't have the same hardware.I've never tried it, but NWS might start with any WoW so you might be able to do an two-point landing and hit the paddle switch to disable NWS before the nose gear touches the ground. I really don't know if it enables with the main gear, or the nose gear. And note this isn't how you land a Hornet.Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Bunny Clark Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 This is correct to the real Hornet. Per NATOPS page I-2-66: "During landing, nosewheel steering is automatically engaged in the low mode with weight on the nose gear." 1 Oil In The Water Hornet Campaign.
