What I see in your video is that you switched the TDC to your MAV format immediately after acquisition of the point track. This is the case I described above:

If your vehicles are in a convoy, you might be lucky enough that there is another vehicle in the same position where your original vehicle was acquired, and the maverick picks up and locks and tracks on that one.  In this case, a launch will result in the vehicle being hit, but it's not the one you are tracking. Otherwise the Maverick will blow up dirt.

There is no TPOD to IMAV handoff. When uncaged, the IMAV will simply look at the A/G designation (diamond), that's all.

It's simpler than you make it out to be.

If the designation is on/close to the target, good. If it's not, you need to update it and make sure it is, by using the TPOD offset cursor (if you want to stay in AUTO/PTRK).

Unless I'm mistaken, the ATFLIR should be able to automatically update the designation in AUTO, but we don't have that capability yet in DCS.

Yep. That's exactly what I described (I think? If not, then I did a bad job of describing it). All the other stuff was just to provide a way for folks to convince themselves that there is, in fact, no hand-off!

I see what you're talking about. Yea, 'handoff' is probably not a proper term.  As a matter of fact this subject was discussed months ago, when we REALLY had an issue using Ir Mavs with a FLIR designation. I was actually one of the folks 'claiming' that the Mav's seeker, when slaved to the FLIR, should be constantly updated and pointing at the exact spot the FLIR is pointing. Of course the Mav has to be uncaged. When the Mav is happy and in range, we get the firing solution.

One thing I can definitely say is 2.7 is a heck of an improvement over the last dozen or so updates.

Absolutely. In Autotrack, the FLIR sensor is driving the designation. It's in track. That's why you see "FLIR" on the HUD while in Auto/Scene but not while in regular designated pointing. The designation should be constantly updated in Autotrack/Scene track.
