GR00VYJERRY Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 I am limiting the MW50 on some of the 109s and Doras on my server so that there aren't 10 superpowered 109s flying around. lol. what is B-4 gasoline? I didn't notice any difference between "empty" and "b-4 gasoline." Both planes got the shakes when pushing past 1.45 ATA since there was no MW50.
Art-J Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 The option only controls the content of the aft tank. It can be either filled with MW mixture (standard), or regular B4 gas (relevant selector on the left side of the cockpit needs to be flipped to use it), or be empty. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
grafspee Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 (edited) B4 is just standard german aviation fuel during WW2 for liquid cooled engines. Razgriz10 Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 The reason the plane is shaking above 1.45 ata is because you are causing engine knock above 1.45 ata. The MW50 is used to prevent knock and allow higher manifold pressure and therefore more power. The limit of 1.45 is mostly due to the fuel octane rating, B4 has roughly 90 octane while german C3 has about 100 octane. Other versions of the DB605 uses C3 without MW50 and can run the same manifold pressure as the other version with it. This is why the D9 also has MW50 normaly used where as the P-47 has a smaller amount and can produce much more manifold pressure because it uses a higher octane fuel, i belive 130 octane is the dcs version. 1
