Mustang Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 (edited) All good so far on my HD3850 card in LO, overall stability in other apps/games good too......saying that i never have any issues with drivers lol Seems the only things that differ in this driver set are hardware monitoring/controls and the incorporation of OpenGL 3.0 (they call it Phase 1) Quote: Highlights of the Catalyst 8.9 Windows release include: New Features Catalyst Control Center: New Display mode support Overdrive support for QUAD CrossFireX configurations OpenGL™ 3.0 support – Phase 1 Resolved Issue highlights Company of Heroes: Setting the in-game options to maximum levels no longer results in the game exiting to the desktop after the game has completed loading. DiRT: Setting shadows to ultra quadCF no longer results in a performance drop being noticed. Assassins Creed: Brightness and saturation distortion is no longer observed during game play with ForceAA enabled. Grid: Enabling CrossFire and starting a new game no longer results in flickering bands being noticed across the display device. Jericho: Corruption is no longer noticed when AA is enabled and the in-game option Advanced Smoothing is enabled. Age of Conan: Playing the game for a short period of time no longer results in flickering corruption being noticed. Edited September 18, 2008 by Mustang

Mustang Posted October 1, 2008 Author Posted October 1, 2008 (edited) so you tried them, and the verdict is? all good so far! As always, nothing out of the ordinary for LO, but i believe that theres some good improvements in some games, not to mention that the OpenGL extensions count has risen from 108 to 115 in this build. Stability is fine too, no crashes or glitches in anything. Oh, although i've never used CCC, i've seen that theres a nice new fan speed control feature thats included in this set, that may please some :) edit: if you see a =Mustang= in this thread http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33932940 thats me (no sh*t lol) :D Edited October 1, 2008 by Mustang
Kuky Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 hm... fan control added to CCC... that's interesting (I modified BIOS to adjust fan profile). Thanks. No longer active in DCS...
