Cmptohocah Posted May 5, 2021 Posted May 5, 2021 It seems that AIM-54C has no gimbals limits. In the engagement below you can see that it actually performed "flat scissors" (literally) maneuver and the only reason why I dodged it, is 'cause it ran out of energy. Three times it managed to re-acquire me. Can anyone enlighten me on how this is possible? https://imgur.com/nSO5qdChttps://i.imgur.com/nSO5qdC.mp4 1 1 Cmptohocah=CMPTOHOCAH
Cmptohocah Posted May 5, 2021 Author Posted May 5, 2021 (edited) The second AIM-54C is even greater comedy: this one seemed to have a little kamikaze gremlin in side of it and decided to "zoom and boom". https://imgur.com/LH5IuARhttps://imgur.com/LH5IuAR https://imgur.com/LH5IuARhttps://i.imgur.com/LH5IuAR.mp4 Edited May 5, 2021 by Cmptohocah Cmptohocah=CMPTOHOCAH
dundun92 Posted May 5, 2021 Posted May 5, 2021 Seeker gimbals on all ARHs are ±60°. I can tell exactly without the tacview, but this dosent look at all like no gimbal limits, this looks within the gimbals. For the 2nd gif, that was a desynced AIM-54. From the shooters perspectice it guided normally with proper midcourse guidance, but from your perspective it didnt and suddenly snapped onto you, its a knows bug and ED is working on it. Actually @dundun92, the missile was going correctly initially, from my point at least, 'cause I have notched it. I have no idea at what point it decided to track and why. Cmptohocah=CMPTOHOCAH
GGTharos Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 But the point is that due to desync your POV is not relevant to what the missile actually does, you also need the shooter's track. 2 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
