Start above and outside cockpit, parking spots not labeled in F10 map

I am new to this, just started using mission editor. Each time when I hit the "fly mission" button it launches me somewhere outside the cockpit (I have been above the plane, I've been in the air over the bare ground) and can't get in the cockpit. Also, when zooming in on airfields I don't see the parking spots labeled when I'm in "Sat" mode. When I click the drop down for "parking" the screen freezes and says that the "Window is not in focus"........please send help......SOS!!!!

When you add an aircraft in the mission editor, it's AI controlled by default. Change the pilot skill to "Player" (single player) or "Client" (multiplayer) to be able to fly the aircraft.

 

The "key" icon (  ) on the left let you display/hide map layers. Select "PARKINGS" on the right hand menu.
