The 100% ammunition max. firing time for the .50's is about 24 seconds which seems to indicate a loadout of 267 rpg (~650 rpm). The inboard .50's of the P-51 have a firing time of about 38 seconds or 400 rpg (correct). Isn't the P-47 supposed to have a max. ammunition capacity of 425 rpg? I'm running the last stable update (not beta) and didn't find this covered in my searches so forgive me if the topic has already been covered/addressed.

According to manual, design load is 300 rounds per each, maximum is 425

From Pilot's notes, i think with 8 guns you won't be able to squish 425 per each.

Another thing is that 6 gun config is standard, and additional 2 guns are optional loadout.

I think that is a good point regarding the operational load options, but the gun bay volume (ammunition "channels" or sub-bays?) allocated to ammo for each M2 appears to be the same for any of the 8 (or 6) guns so I don't understand how the number of guns carried would have an effect on the maximum rounds per gun.

The current DCS module description and user manual (and a host of other sources) also state a maximum capacity of 425 rpg, which doesn't appear to be possible in the sim right now unless the P-47 M2s are using a higher rate of fire than the M2s in the P-51, which would be strange?

Anyway, great module. I'm having a lot of fun with it.

I know that P-51 and P-47 used AN/M2 light with 800 rpm.

Higher rof then standard version.
