Recently, i have this problem where after about 10 minutes the screen will freeze, however the game is clearly still running. I can hear the audio (whenever i press the buttons to change views i can hear the difference) and i can see the cursor clearly change as i move around the cockpit. It usually freezes on the game, however it recently froze and proceeded to show my desktop. Have never seen anything like this.

Some specs:

CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860K

GPU: GTX 1060 6GB (Drivers are up to date)

Motherboard: MSI A78M-E35 V2

RAM: 8GB

I understand these specs are pretty poor but i have run DCS like this pretty well for a year now.

Hey. Please reproduce this issue and attach your dcs.log file ( C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS...\Logs\dcs.log - may appear as "dcs" ).

Also, please attach your dxdiag log (how to obtain it).

Check your RAM to see if it's OK using Windows Memory Test.

At last, please run the following command in a "cmd" window and paste the result here: wmic pagefile list /format:list

dcs.logDxDiag.txt

Here are the 2 files. The memory test found no results, and these were the results from command prompt:

Thanks. I see in your dcs.log you're having the "DX device removed" error.

This error can spring from:

  • overclocked or undervolted GPU, CPU or RAM
  • a GPU driver issue
  • a CPU clogged with dust
  • a faulty or insufficient PSU
  • or, and that is new, a conflict with Corsair iCUE.

If Corsair iCUE is installed on your PC, try uninstalling it then see how DCS does.
