Bluebiird Posted June 17, 2021 Posted June 17, 2021 Comrades, I have tried searching to see if this is either a bug or more than likely me not knowing what I am doing but I can't find the answer. While flying the Hind and making any sort of harder turn I get the red "VERT GYRO 2 FAIL" light. so far it has only been number 2 and not number 1. This also causes my sight reticle to go away and my fan (the small fan inside the cockpit) turns off. Additionally, it turns off all of my autopilots. It makes it seem like the plane temporarily loses electrical power. I am fairly confident it is something I am doing wrong. I am leaning towards I either don't have the right switch on/off or I am making too hard of a turn which forces this to happen. Any guidance would be appreciated because it is making shooting things difficult since the aiming reticle frequently disappears. Thanks for the help!

In the Mi-8 you can lose the generator by having too much torque on the blades. This sounds like a similar problem, losing electrical power under overly strenuous maneuvering. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] CPU - Intel 8088 @ 4.77 MHz; Memory - 128KB; 360KB double-sided 5 1/4" full-height floppy disk drive; 10MB Seagate ST-412 hard drive JG-1 MiG-21bis Checklist
Bluebiird Posted June 17, 2021 Author Posted June 17, 2021 Thanks for the info. After a few more hours of flying I didn't experience it as often because I was doing smoother, less abrupt turns and didn't crank the collective all the way up. 1

Yeah your overtaxing the engines from creating too much tourqe on the blades. Which can happen if you have pulled the collective fully up for long periods of time, and/or done a really abrupt vilolent manuver
