Lange_666 Posted June 24, 2021 Posted June 24, 2021 (edited) When using the Oculus Tray Tool i can set ASW to forced 45Hz (40 in my case) so the game doesn't jump between 80 or 40 FPS which causes a stutter each time it happens. So i set it to ASW on with a 40FPS limit, FPS then caps to 40 and the stutter is gone (i accept the ghosting as a side effect). But how does one set ASW (with a 40FPS limit) in OpenComposite? Flyingfish Posted June 24, 2021 Posted June 24, 2021 Press ctrl and keypad 3 to force 40fps with ASW. Ctrl and keypad 4 will put it back to automatic. RTX 4090, AMD 9800x3D, 64GB Ram
Lange_666 Posted June 25, 2021 Author Posted June 25, 2021 Thanks, Is there a list with these shortcuts? Also, is it possible to set it permanently? In the OpenComposite dir there is also a config file but there is not much in it besides the NetFrame runtime. I found some info on Gitlab but that does not include much on how to use some "options" like setting supersamplingratio etc... It also says that when OC is run, it looks for an OpenComposite.ini, i don't have that file anywere still OC works. I hoped OTT would still work alongside but that seems not the case. Flyingfish Posted June 25, 2021 Posted June 25, 2021 OTT should still work with OC. I'm sure it used to but I haven't used it for a while so something may have changed. All I did with OC was run the .exe file the first time I used it, set it to use OC as default and then just left it. If I use OTT I open that first, then Oculus, then start DCS. If you've got a profile set up for DCS you should get an audio message saying game launch detected. The list of ASW shortcuts are (I think) Ctrl and keypad 1 - ASW off Ctrl and keypad 2 - FPS 40 and ASW off Ctrl and keypad 3 - 40 FPS and ASW always on Ctrl and keypad 4 - ASW on automatic (default) RTX 4090, AMD 9800x3D, 64GB Ram
Lange_666 Posted June 25, 2021 Author Posted June 25, 2021 Shortcuts work. Even with the Oculus API, 50% of the time there is no OTT audio message that DCS is detected (mostly on first run of DCS in VR) but the profile always works. With OpenComposite, i have doubts my OTT profile always kicks in when running OpenComposite because there are difference in graphics quality between 2 runs. I needed OpenComposite to test run ReshadeVR which doesn't work on the Oculus VR API. ReshadeVR brings more vibrant colors and sharper textures but the downside is more overall shimmering. fab.13 Posted June 25, 2021 Posted June 25, 2021 Hello, Is there a link somewhere that explain how to use Occulus Rift (S) + DCS + Open Composite + ReshadeVr ? This combination looks good...
Lange_666 Posted June 26, 2021 Author Posted June 26, 2021 - Get ReshadeVR and use OVGME or another modmanager to install it. - Get OpenComposite and run the exe. - Press Switch to OpenComposite and or use the config button to select DCS and click right on the icon, then select Always Use OpenComposite. - Run Oculus (or the OTT before that) - Run DCS If you use Skatezilla's Launcher/Updater you can point the SteamVR API to OpenComposite and select that as VR api. Used it for the first time online today, only 4 player but quite stuttery at moments, i seems to have a negative performance impact compared to original shaders and just the Oculus VR api.
