DetroiTechno Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 I am on the second mission now. I completed the first one a while ago. Coming back to this. I auto start the plane... With the engine started I switch the selector to left tank on. Then switch the main selector fuel valve to > external on. The engine runs for about 30 seconds and then sputters and dies. I've tried this at least 5 times now. I'm absolutely sure it's external on. With it set to external on the engine dies in 20-30 seconds. Is there something I am doing wrong? Thanks for any help. Reflected Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 For some reason the same happened to me on the ground once, so make sure you do it in the air. Not sure why this happens, it's module related. You'd never want to take off using externals in real life anyway. Also, the external selector is hard to read when it's set to left tank/ main tank/ right tank, so maybe you set it to the fuselage tank accidentally? Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
DetroiTechno Posted July 4, 2021 Author Posted July 4, 2021 That seems to do the trick. Don't switch to external until you are in the air. Thanks for the help! _Spad_ Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 I asked this question in the P-47 forum. Supposedly, the external fuel tanks use the engines supercharger to draw fuel into the engine. That's why you need to be airborne in order to select the external fuel tanks. 1
