Fightertown wishlist

You can't have the F-14 Tomcat without Fightertown or Miramar, CA. Home of Top Gun!!!! That would be soooooo cool to have and maybe have like Top Gun courses that you could do and mock air to air. That and you gotta get the USS Enterprise aircraft carrier, all those go hand in hand with the F-14 Tomcat. Would be cool to have preflight checks, like walk around the planes before climbing in the cockpit....Just a few things on my wishlist

Obviously you can (because we do - ), but I think I know what you want. That being said, would you really want another non-descript boring NFWS map a la NTTR? Nevada is hands down the worst (boring, generic, monotonous) map (IMHO, of course) you can currently purchase. Would you want more of that? Not being native to that region I may be doing it injustice, but from having a look via Google Earth, I'm having difficulty imagining such a map being much different from NTTR (or, tbh, from SOH's boring southern half).

I don't get get it. All DCS combat is mock. Most of it is mock air to air. What are you looking for? OTOH, the good news is that you actually can air-to-air the "Mig 28", as the F5E is already available (and really, really nice)

God no. How would that sensibly work in-game? So you walk around the plane. Would you expect to find something amiss? And then what? You dress down your Chief and then walk back to your wardroom (usually, failing preflight means a grounded plane)? What would be the point of that?

Well if you’re looking for that TOPGUN atmosphere/training and haven’t already bought it, I would highly recommended the “Zone V” Campaign by Reflected Simulations for the F-14 . It will give you that in a fairly realistic manner, given the limitations of DCS.

it was made with the help of a former F-14 RIO and TOPGUN instructor.

Granted the campaign still has you based in Nellis, but other than that it should be what you’re looking for.

 

ED has stated they consider Nevada terrain finished and won’t add any more airports/areas to it and I think it doesn’t make sense to do a new neighbouring terrain ,just because of Miramar.

Being able to do walk arounds for preflight checks is already planed by ED. See the video interview below at 1:17:45 min.
