Grimes Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 I've always played with Anti-Aliasing on with Lockon. The game looks much better with it running than without (obviously :D) Lately though no matter what settings I have applied in my graphics card, it just isn't working for Lockon. I've reinstalled/changed drivers several times. I even reinstalled the game, after which AA worked for a few sessions. But after a crash to desktop however, AA returned to its current state of never wanting to work. I don't want to reinstall the game everytime it stops working, but seeing those jaggies once the game loads up just annoys me. Also whenever I load in I have no water texture, a simple alt-tab fixes it, but still another graphics related issue. AA works in all other games. I'm running Catalyst 8.1 with an x1950xtx Any thoughts, would be pro. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. I set application control on the AA in global, and forced on on Lock On it will not work. You need to have it on both places. Hope this helps? Kuky Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Hey grimes, I don't know why AA won't work in LockOn as it worked for me on that same video card (so it's not the hardware) and I used same Catalyst 8.1 at that time (so I doubt it's the graphics driver either). I also always used Heatblur enabled so that's shouldn't be it... and as far as I remember you used both AA and Heatblur enabled and it worked before so there's gotta be something else... I think it's "the game"... not exactly game engine but I think it's to much memory for the video card due to all the mods installed... Here's one thing I had before... the missing water texture... that happened to me almost every time I'd play the game online... it would start working if I'd ALT/TAB out of the game and back in... but if I'd quit the mission (after getting shot) and just refly again... I'd get missing textures for meny... the chat window... I then though it's gotta be just textures not loading and I suspected too much textures in Temptextures folder (since those are not compressed into CDDS files) I then used ED's CDDS utility and got any larger BMP and TGA files into CDDS (I left small files there as I don't think getting 10kb instead of 15kb would be of big deal :) ) I've also had a look at Rugg's terrain CDDS packs and thought since I'm using those I don't need original ones... so I started deleting any duplicate files and leaving only those I am actually using (so the game won't have to load or even "look" at them) Ever since I've done this I never again got missing water texture or missing menu/chat window texture... if you can give this a try and see if it helps.
