Hello. We're currently translating Russian DCS manual to Polish language. Can we obtain the manual in editable format (a doc file for example), so we could change the text only preserving original layout, fonts and pictures?

Give me "flying telephone pole" (SA-2)!

Here is another very helpful manual to translate — Illustrated Short Start Up Manual for Ka-50 Black Shark, version 2. Don't forget say thanks to bob.

Having in mind those reactions to comments on changing RU edition into ENG, and that such action "violates the EULA", I would like to suggest a creation of localization team and corresponding forum. I'm willing to sign any NDA in regard to that, especially if ED is willing to support such localization (if quality is satisfied) and publish them on their ifficila web-pages.

Localization is not something to be afraid of. Localized applications are selling much better that those without localization. MS grasped this commercial issue long time ago. Linux is gaining more users every day on account being language-friendly. Understanding few words of english (or any "commercially most popular" language) does not mean that other people can trully understand what is said.

I've talked to many Croatian game resellers, and each of them confirmed that having a translated manual guarantees the sell. There is more localized content in my country eavery day and people tend to avoid foreign content.

Just take a look at the number of language-specific forums, contact their admins and ask them what is the most popular toipic there. You will quickly learn that they are mainly talking about things that are already explained in the english language (eg, foreing) manual.

This CANNOT jeopertize ANY application or game. I hope ther will be positive reaction to my suggestion from official representatives, not only kind words or excuses from forum members, even if they are associated in some way with ED/TFC. They are also bound by thier own NDA or other contracts.

Thanks in advance.

There is a Translators forum in the Beta Team section where the activities and schedules of the various localization teams are coordinated. My suggestion, if you (or anyone else) intend to officially create such a team, would be to contact Wags. I'm not sure if the request would be accepted at this stage, as I believe the only localization teams are those working on the "official" localizations that will be shipped with the international release of the game, but it would be worth a shot. Just please do so in a professional manner so I don't get in trouble just for bringing it up and causing a flood of messages to Wags. ;)

Thanks for info, AlphaOneSix.

I did contact Wags, no reply so far. I did contact Chizh long time ago regarding DCS:BS translation. I'm professional translator, and I know how to work on localizations. I'm also ex aircraft mechanic. I'm sure there would be no delay on account of Croatian language if I was given a chance :(

I hate to nag people constantly about some things like this. Localization, into any language, would be good for bussines. Each languae team does not need more then one beta or other working copy - team coordinator is the only one that need to check the GUI and messages. Other members of team can work on manual without the need for copy of BS. Coordinator checks everything.
