Hi there...

I`m playing around with the ME, creating some simple mission for myself.

I managed to trigger a radio transmission (radio chatter file found in Download section).

Now i want more 🙂

Is there a portal where i can find radio chatter files (fighting ground forces under heavy fire ordering air support for example). Anything would be appriciated.

And what would be cool²: some radio chatters ind russion language...

Well, you could try and use the Intertubes (a google search) for such audio, and may happen on very good such footage. You may also find them as video clips on youtube and then extract the sound.

Be advised, though, that for private purpose you should be okay when extracting audio from videos etc. Before you share your missions, though, be sure to have checked that you own the rights to re-distribute.

I use audio libraries that I purchase (Unity asset store for example) and with the purchase then own the rights to include in my missions. There's great audio to be found, and yes, they make the missions so much more enjoyable, it's totally worth it (plus hunting for good audio is fun - at least for me)

Or just have it run in the background. Many hours of NTTR scanner audio.

Edit: This one for example is the one I use personally.

This is a slippery slope when using them in a DCS .miz, since anyone and their dog can access the files there. I don't think Unity Asset Store assets can only be used in Unity, but when using them for free DCS missions, you're basically just putting them in a different zip file and sharing them with the internet. And that is something the EULA explicitly forbids.

It is emphasized that the END-USERS shall not be entitled to distribute or transfer in any way (including, without, limitation by way of sublicense) the Assets in any other way than as integrated components of electronic applications and digital media or in supporting physical marketing materials.

You can debate what "integrated components" actually means, but I read that as "compiled into a new piece of software". The .miz files are definitely not integrated.

I'm not saying you'll have mobs with pitch forks on your front lawn any time soon, but a seller on the Asset Store might definitely object to this.

Thank you @applepiefrost for the comment. Indeed, the question revolves around the meaning of "integrated component". We (my company) use licensed assets (imagery, audio, models) from UAS and other sources to include into packages such as presentations, games, DLC, net demos and promotional videos. In all these cases, accessing the audio part is as trivial (or even more trivial) as accessing a .miz, given the correct knowledge/tools. Our legal department determined that since we don't sub-lease the audio itself, only distribute these files as part of a closed package ("DLC") that is designed to be opened by a specific application (a .miz in this case, a DCS specific component), we comply with the license provisions. It would indeed be prudent for everyone to check on a case-by-case basis if they intend to do the same.
