Rotary Escorting armor not working

I tried to get the MI-24 to escort armor 'on road' and doesn't work.

It's strange as it did work couple months ago in a mission I created but can't get it to work at all now.

First I choose APC BTR 80 armor 'On Road' and next selected the MI-24 and choose 'Task, Escort'.
Next for 'Triggered Actions' I selected Type Perform Task Action Ground Escort and Group 1 for the APC BTR 80 and for the life of me I can't get it to work.
The helicopter always goes back to base without escorting.

Am I doing something wrong and how can I fix it.

Did you "trigger" the action? You need to either add a trigger and get it done or use a waypoint with "follow" as the action.

Just tested and Ground Escort works fine for me. I set it as main action of first waypoint not as triggered action. I presume both will work.

Tried task follow and ground escort with every other combination I could think of and still no go.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Any other ideas?

Hello,

 

using the groups triggered actions will only work with a trigger in your mission starting that groups action (no 1 in picture).

 

You need to go to the waypoint section of the group (no 2. in picture). Select the waypoint, first one, if the helicopter starts nearby the group which it should excort.

Below the waypoint settings for speed and so on, there is a button called "waypoint actions". Clicking will open a dialog almost exactly like the one in your picture, but this will activate the action selected directly when reaching the waypoint and does not need a mission trigger.
