ambision Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 So I've noticed the new implementation of Leap Motion in the SETTINGS menu of DCS. I was really excited, but ran into this strange error - when checking the box, it Just pops out a message: CONNECT DEVICE. the device is connected fine, all drivers up to date and it works fine in the OS environment. any suggestions here? did anyone ran into this issue and fixed it successfully? ambision Posted July 22, 2021 Author Posted July 22, 2021 Thanks for the tip! We'll, it "works". Sort of.. The device is picking the hands upside down, and it's utterly unusable. But still nice to see some progress after 8 years of ownership. firefox121 Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 to view the hands in his real way you must to attach the device in the proper way in the visor, then click the diagnostic visualizer button in the label throubleshooting across the gemini software, youwill see a window in the desktop where you can see the hands and in the left side you have a lot of keys with his function. I remember the v kei and the z key swaps trhough diferent positions of the device and inverse o reverse view, try it an when done, press apply button. It will remember your settings next time. OMG, this is really a disaster for me, I just bought it and plan to replace the mouse
Supersheep Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 I'm mostly digging up this old thread in hope of a change/workaround during the last two years. Maybe someone knows of a tool or tweak to use Leap Motion in 2D mode? On 8/1/2021 at 2:11 PM, daviddou80 said: Do you mean I must have a VR device when I want to use it? Yep, well, at least for all practical purposes. Technically, you can make DCS run in VR mode (even with only a 2D screen, with no VR headset) with the start option --force_enable_VR, and then you can enable and use the Leap Motion controller. However, without a VR headset, that will show the left and right eyes' viewports side by side, which doesn't do any good - so it is not a feasible workaround.
