at_dp Posted July 24, 2021 Posted July 24, 2021 As in the title, the Data/ADF switch in the RIO cockpit (the lone switch on the bottom right side, behind the seatbelt buckle) is unclickable, there is also no 'action' in the controls menu to assign a key to operate the switch. As a result, if doing a cold start as a RIO, you can't turn on the ECMD. I've seen people reporting this back in 2019. I thought that the RIO was supposed to function as the navigator in the Tomcat. Kind of mind blowing that after all of this time, one of the navigation instruments can't be turned on from cold.

Same way the pilot’s HSD is black when the RIO TID is off. The switch is default in the both position, so you are getting all the info you need. Machalot Posted September 5, 2021 Posted September 5, 2021 (edited) I am stuck on this step of the RIO Cold Start Tutorial. Any ideas? Actually never mind, it was waiting for me to left click the ADI knob after adjusting it. My DATA/ADF switch remained in DATA mode, the middle setting and it allowed me to proceed.
