SunDown Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 I haven't heard what ended up making it into the sim. Are there VOIP functionality binded with the cockpit radios? If not, why even bother modeling them. I'm sure there is something cool under the hood, but I haven't heard either way. Can someone shed some light on this? Thanks C Co 6-6 CAV USLANTCOM
nemises Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 They have allways said from the beginning that voice comms would NOT be included in BS, but is beeing looked into for future engine / addon. There was a post today from one of the dev's indicating they were looking at the opensource comms software called Mumble/Murmur. the cockpit radios are modelled with non player communication in mind (ie AI / wing comms, thatre comms , triggered comms etc..) ... line of site calculations are included in this modelling.
Weta43 Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 the cockpit radios are modelled with non player communication in mind More "the cockpit radios are modelled with non voice communication in mind" Player to AI & Player to Player in MP data linking etc is modelled with line of sight. Cheers.
