Damocles Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 I think I've mucked up my DCS installation, and have tried various "Repair", driver solutions etc, but have a show stopping momentary pause every 4-5 seconds that I can't seem to get rid of. My internet connection is woefully slow, so downloading and re-installing DCS world AND all the modules will/would take several days, is it possible to save the modules on my computer and then re-insert them into the base game without having to re-download them ?
draconus Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 I'd try to repair and clean DCS first. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/repair/#2463807 Try to run with clean profile. Quote Rename your dcs / dcs.openbeta folder in saved games ( keep it as a backup ) release version C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS or beta version C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta to example C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS.openbetabackup or \DCS.old restart DCS, allow it to create a new one, redo your settings and test. You can move your config\input folder back to the new profile after, to save time, from the old renamed one. Try different solutions and ideas from here, especially the video driver change and hot plug option: Redownloading DCS and/or modules is the last resort and it does nothing better than repair would.
