:?: There was a suggestion in one of the other threads about a CD rather than a download from ED. This sounds like a good idea as lots of us still have dial-up service. It would be a much better way to receive the FC upgrade. Microsoft has done this for large downloads. You could ask for a free download CD from them. I don't Expect a free CD from ED , this was just an example of what some do when there is a large download. could ED explore this idea? Or if anyone knows something, maybe it has already been. It would be nice to know. Thanks guys.

Seems there is some demand for a limited mail-order system - those who are absolutely unable to download FC, or can't get it for other reasons.

 

 

I'd suggest a friend with broadband as a first resort, but that still doesn't cover everyone . . . .

I have no intention of buying FC on the internet, so the only way I could get it would be either:

 

1) Ordering CD from ED affiliate

2) Ordering CD from hkm..hkm..

 

As I stated earlier, I would gladly buy the original BUT if it's not available in my country, and I since am not too enthusiastic about paying my phone bill for a 600mb+ download & an online purchase, well, the 2) will be in the play..sorry guys, but I think mailing orders shouldn't be something so difficult to organize.

:D In my own opinion, it would seem to be the best way to get this product to whom ever would like to have it. To me it seems like a logical path to take and everyone is happy. Well we can't say everyone I guess but you get my drift. Hope someone from Ed or the Mod's are listening. If not may have to address this by an e-mail to Ed. Thanks for your opinions guys.

downloading is smart for ED , dont even start to complain about having dial up, you can obtain programs that will resum downloads if you get disconnected , i did this all the time when i was on dial up . Just run it before retireing for the night and you will have it in the morning or go make some new friends who got better connects than you do. mho letting ED control overhead makes it better for me and you in the long run my friend.
