how to check switch comands?

how to check switch comands? Is their a program that will show the comands that happen whin I flip a switch in my Pit. I need it for testing. word dosent show all the Shift, alt Lalt and so on. Nor does note pad. Is their a program I can DL to show what happens whin I flip a switch?
