@ leafer,

to put it simply, when your wheels lift off the ground, you are immediately compensating pitch, bank and roll...

Has anybody tried flying without the stabilizers turned on? It's hard, but I noticed a huge improvement in my flying by practicing this way for an hour- when I turned them back on, it was much easier to fly.

Also, trim is your friend. To use it; get your bird flying in the direction/attitude that you want, press the trim button, and IMMEDIATELY center your cyclic AND your rudder pedals... When cancelling trim, be aware that if moving forward, you will have to quickly compensate with forward cyclic!!

Not sure how technically correct those tips are, but thats what works for me!!

Need to RTFM (Read The Flipping Manual)! Carefully move cyclic forward, then collective.

Heh. Ok. :D Cyclic...is that the thing between your legs or that other thing on the left side? :D

Thanks. Gonna phantom mime the above procedure as I go about my day. :D

:DI've recently installed LO:FC with terrain mods, HDR mod, skins, sound mods and a few others....[all top notch IMHO!!!]

My FPS hovered around 20-30, peaking at ~100 when zoomed in, and stuttering down to 8-10 when over cities...graphics settings maxed!

In BlackShark, I average 40FPS, and peak at ~70 while zoomed in, and havent tried flying over cities yet. (for obvious safety reasons) :D

The biggest influence on my FPS is water. Set it to high, twice less FPS then with it on normal. Doesn't seem to really change whether I look at it or no. And I don't see any difference in it's look. Maybe there is the same with LOMAC?

Cyclic is in the middle, Collective on the left :)

Anyone using CH pedels and CH Combat stick? By default BS was using x and y axis (toe brakes) on the pedals for the cyclic and z axis (yaw) on the pedals for the collective. I wonder if that is why some people are having a hard time controlling the Shark? I tried to assign a different axis letter (R, U, V) for the pedals in the CH ctrl mngr with no luck inside the sim. So I have unplugged the pedals for now, but it stinks using the key board for controlling yaw.

my flight experience

Hi,

I would like to show you all an quiet interesting crash.

It happened when I was on the way to take a closer look to the moving cranes in that city.

That was (nearly) the end of a very nice flight, 15km away of my target airport, with many hard maneuvres (love that "flapping" of the rotor under load), fast and very low raging by some hairbreadths over the ground.

I tried a fast decelerate with some gain of altitude. At the (afterwards I think too ) fast descending, I got into the vortex ring and lost very fast, very much of my altitude. Lowered the gear for some "dampening" of the unaviodable crash, but my tail touched the buildings roofedge (the upper one in 2nd pic, to the left in the 3rd) and was lost. After that hard hit, my nose wanted to go into mud and I tried to eject.

I was ejected nearly an armlength above the ground and bounced 3 times on the ground before I laid at the point in the screenshots.

It was...interesting...and I felt like: :joystick:...... :music_whistling:....:megalol:

Should do some :book::smartass:
