Exorcet Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 The attached track shows a flight of J-11's taken from a larger mission that take off from Kerman and then endlessly spiral upward and never follow their waypoints. I've tried changing formation and deleting some of the initial options but this has no effect. Something that seemed to work was changing the placement of WP1 from north of Kerman to south of Kerman, which I'll probably use a work around (ironically I placed the WP north to allow the AI to form up without excessive fuel use). However, the position of the WP shouldn't matter and the AI shouldn't get stuck in this behavior. One note is that I am still on stable version 2.7.3. The issue might be resolved in the never version but I don't want to update just to test. Flappie Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 No, the issue is still present in current open beta. I fixed your mission by deleting their first waypoint, which is quite useless. AI Takeoff Issue fix.trk ---
Exorcet Posted September 14, 2021 Author Posted September 14, 2021 Usually I add a first waypoint like that to prevent the AI from wasting fuel (depending on the take off spacing, 3 and 4 might fall behind and go full burner trying to catch the leader). It has made a difference before, but I guess for now I'll have to do without and see if there are any fuel issues.
