r-unit Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Using the mission editor, you can save the track file as an .AVI file... What are best settings to plug in to make it nice ? The Divx 6 codec or the Microsoft one Thank you's
crazysundog Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Hah, a very good question, and I would also like opinions; my opinion is that the microsoft one had horrible quality and no sound... of course i probably fudged up some settings somewhere!!
DTWD Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Do you get to pick from any codec on your system or is it just the two? And when you say "the microsoft one" do you mean WMV? WMV and Divx are technically very similar so both can output high quality well compressed HD video. I think WMV has the edge on what it will take and compress, but it's a lot harder to use. If you can export, and have the space and machine with enough performance, export as uncompressed AVI and compress later. All compression works better with multiple passes. r-unit Posted November 14, 2008 Author Posted November 14, 2008 strill trying to figure it out. there are 10 choices of video codec's, and about 5 choices for audio sounds... I can not tell, but i think they codec's need to be installed on your system first. I was able to start recording of the track of the AVI format... but it very choppy really badly. Being able to record your .trk as AVI file is realy a great idea i'm glad ED though of it. Another reason why is the best combat sim.
crazysundog Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Hmmmm; Sounds like I need to learn a few things about video editing!!
r-unit Posted November 14, 2008 Author Posted November 14, 2008 Hmmmm; Sounds like I need to learn a few things about video editing!! Does anyone know how to properly record a .trk file into an AVI Video using the BS mission editor? The sequence of the steps of the procedure would bennifit in this regard in order to make hi quality .AVI video.
DTWD Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 I would imagine the best way of doing it would be like Glowing Amrams tutorial for LOMAC in the screens shots forum. This aproach doesn't use the track method, well does, but doesn't. Regards Paul Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
r-unit Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 your missing the point, it is set up so the track is record as .AVI.... the aplicatiions are many !
DTWD Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Do you mean it records the playback of the track or renders out the track without actually running it? Regards Paul Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
r-unit Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 Do you mean it records the playback of the track or renders out the track without actually running it? Regards Paul It transformes the track file into .AVI video file. When working i get it will have more detail on that situation.
DTWD Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 So it renders out and doesn't play back and capture? You see this is an important difference, one you shouldn't get any frame rate issues (depending on how it's done) and the other is why Glowing's method is useful. mc_smile Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 The best method if your system performance is appropriate enough is recording with Fraps. All compressions can be done later with a video editor like Vegas. Still if you want to record AVI via the game i think divx codec is better It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice © Scooter Intel Core i7 8700K, Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5, 32Gb DDR4 CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 3200MHz, Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2080Ti Extreme, VKB Gunfighter MkII + TM HOTAS Warthog + TM MFD Panels, TrackIR5
Vekkinho Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 So it's been fixed, right?!! LOFC also had "save as .avi" option but it never actually worked! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
mc_smile Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 It morked but it took plenty of time to calibrate encoding correctly It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice © Scooter Intel Core i7 8700K, Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5, 32Gb DDR4 CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 3200MHz, Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2080Ti Extreme, VKB Gunfighter MkII + TM HOTAS Warthog + TM MFD Panels, TrackIR5
