Hi,

When I start Lomac with Anti-Aliasing being activated (Radeon4800+CCC 8.10) I get very ugly fonts displayed in the menu and all chat windows and througout the whole LO-FC application.

As soon as Anti Aliasing is deactivated screens look normal.

Please refer to my screenshots for demonstration.

Does anyone know the cause or even better the solution to get this fixed?

I have not had this issue with my old x1900xt. I do not know if this is a issue of the ATI drivers or an isue with MS Windows (possibliy trueType font setting). It really gets annoying if you try to read small fonts from the briefing or chat window.

Not sure, I don't see this myself but then again I am not using an ATI.

You could try enabling/disabling windows clear type and see if that helps.

Failing that it might be down to the way you apply the AA.

On the NVIDIA cards you can choose to override, enhance or go with the program on the AA and AF side of things. I had a similar "glitch" to this when I chose to enhance Stalkers graphics with AA. However on LOMAC I use the over ride command and everything looks fine.

I lived with it with Stalker and it's not the biggest problem so I wouldn't spend too long trying to fix it.

Have a look at 'All settings', or whatever it's called in your language (or maybe it's called 'special something-or-other') - it should be the lowest entry in what flops out when you expand the '3D'-list in CCC. You should find, in a square marked as Direct3D options, find a few check-boxes (two for me on X1900XT), one of them reading 'Use alternate pixel-center'. Check this and see if it sorts you out. I really don't see how that would be the problem, though - only games from the nineties ever really needed this...
