Hi guys, Care to share what you currently use for those who have CM2/CM3 + VPC Control panels. DO you guys still used the Shift tool or just use the DCS Modifier. It seems that the 128 button limit still prevents the VPC Panels to be able to use 5-modes on all switches/buttons when just using the VPC Config. Gremlin is out of the question()even tho you could have it setup for even more vjoy buttons) since still have to setup in all and it would make dcs in game button config much more crowded and still have to run Gremlin in the BG. What are you guys set-up?

I use DCS Modifier for those that I need a little extra for.

I have Virpil CM3 Throttle and VKB Gunfighter Pro. I have a modifier button assigned on each.

So you dont use the vpc_shift tool anymore?... I just realized that DCS has this modifier. This would be great to for button boxes outside the Virpil Ecosystem

No, never have.

To clarify, I have a button assigned as modifier on the Throttle that i use in conjunction with buttons on stick.

Likewise I have a button assigned as modifier on the stick, that I use in conjunction with buttons on throttle.

If you're just starting out with this, be aware that there are two options for modifiers in DCS (can't remember exactly how they're named, sorry): you can either have it set to be active when the modifier is held down (i.e. it only modifies if the button is held down) OR you can have it work like an on/off switch and are sticky (so you don't have to hold it, press it once and it turns on and stays on until you press it a 2nd time which turns it off).  You can mix and match which option you use for each, so it's pretty flexible.

As an example, I have a "switch" modifier for the rotary knob that I use for HMD brightness, that lets me press it once and change it to controlling the NVG brightness for the whole mission.  I also have buttons on my HOTAS set to the WP up/down OSB's on the LDDI.  Since I don't always have HSI or SA page on the LDDI, I have another switch set as a toggle to change these to the appropriate MPCD OSB's instead.

Nice, I think I only need the modifier and not the switches..

Yeah I only use the Modifier function, I do not use any switches.
