Hi Folks,

I come over from the IL2 community and I m looking forward to this DCS Serie. Could be dreamland for the next years. So like many of you I m waiting for the english release.

So my plan is to buy a new system for this game. What will be the perfect one? My bugget is up to 1500€.

What graphic card, CPU etc.

I just wanna go to my computer dealer to give him a list, to set up a system, buying, going home and playing with the highest setting in the campain without any frame problems.

Best regards

What should be included? Only CPU, GPU, Mainboard, RAM, ... or do you need other stuff as well, i.e. Joystick, Pedals, TrackIR, 24" monitor, ...?

Perfect? NP...

Are you sure that has DirectX 9.0c support? :D

MSI 870A-G54, AMD Phenom II X2 555 @Phenom II X4 B55 BE, 3.2 GHz quad-core, Asus EAH4870 DK/HTDI/512MD5, OCZ Gold Edition DDR3 1333MHz 4GB Kit Low-Voltage. Budget = Cheap = Good :D

My recommendation would be If you don't have them already is a good HOTAS (joystick and throttle) with rudder pedals and TrackIR. They are a must to get the most out of this sim, and in my opinion, will give you more enjoyment than the prettiest possible graphics.

After that spend the rest of your budget on the computer.

Be serious, I belong to the older generation, all this diffrent CPU, mainbord and graphic card stuff makes me crazy.

For this I need some tips or a list, so I m save for the next maybe two years playing DCS.

Well you have to decide if you want to go with Intel or AMD, Dual or Quad-Core, Ati or Nvidia.

If the main purpouse of that PC is to run BS, then a fast DualCore (E8400 for example) would suffice, but if you use it for other stuff as well (Photo/Video Editing, 3D Modelling/Animation, Decoding/Encoding Video/Audio) then you should maybe go with a QuadCore CPU like the Q9550 or X9850. More and more new games already support QuadCore CPU's so it's probably not a bad investment for the future and with Intels new i7 chipset being released, prices will probably drop.

RAM are pretty cheap nowadays so you can put in 4GB DDR2 or DDR3, depending on what mainbroard you want to use. On the graphic card side you could go with an Ati 4870 which should give you more than enough power for BS.

Only some suggestions.

Any modern PC will do. The key hardware is the processor due to BS single core restriction. So, faster core - better performance. As an e.g. you can look at my configuration in the signature. Costed me 1000?. Fair enough. Of course it's IMHO)
