Draken35 Posted October 17, 2021 Posted October 17, 2021 I received my collective a few days ago. Overall, I think it is quite nice but using the extension requires too much friction for my liking and reduces the "smoothness" of the operation. So, I came with the idea of reducing the friction and adding a counterweight: As you can see, it is very crude. Done with stuff at had at hand for a proof of concept / prototype ... But it worked so well for me that I decided to share the idea at this early stage... I'm still playing with the friction adjustment and weight to get the perfect balance. Mounting system also needs to be a little more solid to prevent counter weight movement 1
foobolt Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 It's a very good idea! When the friction was increased, the movement became a little sticky, and it was difficult to make fine adjustments. After attaching the counterweight and reducing the friction, the movement became very smooth.
Vullcan Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 I'm surprised they haven't made this change to their collective yet. I guess not many people use the extension enough to complain? Fully extended the collective falls down on its own in the lower positions even after I have cranked down on the adjustment screws to max tightness. And like you said, it gets stiction when you have them that tight. A counterweight solves all the issues.
MustangSally Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Don't need it if you add some Nyogel grease to the dampner pads. Vullcan Posted August 12, 2022 Posted August 12, 2022 I added nyogel as soon as I got it, this still doesn't prevent it from falling down on its own when you let go at the lower throttle positions. Falling down on its own is made even worse when a bass shaker goes off for obvious reasons.

At the end, I went the dampener route: Took a bit of trial and error to find the sweet spot for the brackets but no issues since.
