CYPHER11 Posted October 21, 2021 Posted October 21, 2021 Hey Guys, I’m quite familiar with the Mi8 Weapon Systems right now and it is so much fun blowing up things with rockets and the 12.7 but I can‘t get it managed to fly specific pitch/power/speed/altitude values to bring the 30mm grenades almost nearly into the target. Is there a kneeboard list or any advise how to aim with them through the sight? How can I see how far away I am via the mildots maybe? thank you for any advise - would appreciate if we can get some kind of table to the kneeboard of the Mi-8. always happy landings Cypher
sLYFa Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 The manual has sighting tables for all weapons, have a look there i5-8600k @4.9Ghz, 2080ti , 32GB@2666Mhz, 512GB SSD

Nothing says 'youre not welcome to help', like comments- like these.. 17 hours ago, CYPHER11 said: Ok yeah got it - but how to know what distance I have to the target? Spend a good few hours flying around trying to hit landmarks, it's truly the only real and efficient way of getting your aim right.. I don't think anyone has a real guide to work this stuff out easily. 1

I was pointing OP to information he was apparently unaware of which provide just what he asks for (providing page and table numbers). You want me to post the sighting tables here? How about you read a thread more thoroughly before showing attitude? 18 hours ago, CYPHER11 said: Ok yeah got it - but how to know what distance I have to the target? At 1000m, it would fill up about a quarter of the inner ring (10mils). At 500m, it would fill up halve the ring (20 mils) and so on. This is explained in more detail in pages 316-317. Not ideal, but this is all you get with a fixed sight (as IRL). i5-8600k @4.9Ghz, 2080ti , 32GB@2666Mhz, 512GB SSD
CYPHER11 Posted October 25, 2021 Author Posted October 25, 2021 Thank you guys so much for the explanation! Really appreciate:) i will do my best, thanks
Dragon1-1 Posted October 25, 2021 Posted October 25, 2021 The best way to do it is just to just do it until you get it. Gauging distance with a fixed sight, in particular, is something that just needs to be learned. After a while you'll just know what sight picture gets you hits. Ranging with a fixed sight is approximate, but then, the GUV isn't a precision weapon.

Try and be more helpful rather than pushing people to the instructions. That doesn't help. 3
Sobakopes Posted December 20, 2021 Posted December 20, 2021 80 mils at 1000m, 50 mils at 800 m. 160 mils at 1500
