DTWD Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 its so annoying... the screen going dark... and you have to deal with being stopped in your tracks I HATE UAC in vista.. ! It could maybe be tweaked slightly, the repeated requests are annoying, but other than that it's a great feature. Regards Paul Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
JG27_Arklight Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 (edited) Vista users need to understand that they will run into this with just about every game and piece of software out there. Not a fan of UAC myself, so I just disable it. That and the driver signing thing for V64. Vista users need to understand, in general, UAC sucks. Of course, I'm easily annoyed when it comes to needing access to my own files. :D On a side note, after activating the game via the serial key and the second icon on the desktop, I noticed it can take quite a while for the Multiplayer options screen to load up. At first I thought it just hung or wasn't going to load....I waited a while longer and it just loaded right up. ED Team Groove Posted November 20, 2008 ED Team Posted November 20, 2008 UAC is one of the best features in Vista. Especially with the threats which awaits you nowadays surfing the internet. Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
kaos.dll Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 I agree to Groove, it's absolute nonsense to blame the UAC and normally you do not have to disable it. I installed BS yesterday a second time with UAC enabled and it worked like all other software else. UAC normally do not have affect on installations - if a setup needs admin the UAC asks the user and after clicking 'yes' we're back in business like without UAC. One "problem" of Vista is the folder virtualization for example c:\program files and you may get problems with copy protections if you install games in there. But this is a neverending story - if you don't like UAC - disable it. If you don't like Microsoft as well, go and install Linux or buy a Mac ...... Oh no DCS there? Bad news :D Hey mods, feel free to close this thread or we've to go back to topic. :-) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
