Nealius Posted October 26, 2021 Posted October 26, 2021 (edited) It appears that the Hornet's 3D model doesn't have enough LODs to reduce framerate impact when there's a crowded carrier deck. There have been a few threads on Supercarrier performance issues, but my experience has shown that a good chunk of this is from the aircraft placed on the deck rather than the carrier itself. With a crowded deck on the carrier my VR framerate goes from 72 when looking away from a busy carrier, to 34~36 when looking at the busy carrier from 15nm away. With all shadows and anti-aliasing turned off. Fortunately the framerates don't drop below 23~25 when in the pattern or on the deck, but still this is a massive performance hit that to me seems to be a LOD issue considering performance drops when the player is so far away they can't even see the objects that are causing the performance hit. It would be nice if we only got performance hits in the immediate vicinity of parked Hornets. Edited October 26, 2021 by Nealius 4
