Hi All,

I have a fully populated copy of stable installed, 12 or so USA and other Aircraft, and all the terrains

I want to now run a duplicate copy of the stable install, as the open beta. Obviously, I can make a duplicate of the data etc. I have installed openbeta, and then I copied over the terrains and aircraft, but when I then reopen openbeta, it does not recognise anything that I have copied over, and states on opening, that F/A-18C etc, is not authorised and will be disabled

Please could some advise me of how I can convert my 400GB stable to an additional 400GB openbeta

I do have the DCS GUI Utility, although not found out how to use it for that purposes

Thank you

You could do two things.
Copy the whole Eagle Dynamics\DCS folder to Eagle Dynamics\DCS.openbeta , which is the default OB folder, and configure it in Skatezilla's app and convert it to OB. The app will let you do that.
OR just run the OB installer, and it will take all the files it needs from the Stable installation.
If you want to use the same settings in Saved Games for both, you either need to go the symbolic links/hard links way, or put a file "DCS_variant.txt" with the word "DCS" inside it.
Cheers!

I'm not on my computer, but Skatezilla's has posted a setup walk through somewhere here.
But basically, in the app setup, you point paths to the Stable and OB directories, and the Saved Games folders. That's pretty much it.

I have selected OpenBeta build in the App, and then selected the modules. I have then clicked on install selected modules, and it is downloading it all from the internet. I thought it searched locally for copies of the files?

These are the modules I own;

Product Name

A-10C Basic Flight Training Campaign

DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer

DCS: A-10C Warthog

DCS: AV-8B Night Attack V/STOL

DCS: Black Shark (English)

DCS: Black Shark 2

DCS: C-101 Aviojet

DCS: Combined Arms

DCS: F/A-18C Hornet

DCS: F-14 Tomcat

DCS: F-16C Viper

DCS: F-5E Tiger II

DCS: Flaming Cliffs 3

DCS: L-39 Albatros

DCS: M-2000C

DCS: NEVADA Test and Training Range Map

DCS: Normandy 1944 Map

DCS: NS 430 Navigation System

DCS: P-51D Mustang

DCS: Persian Gulf Map

DCS: SA342 Gazelle

DCS: Spitfire LF Mk. IX

DCS: Supercarrier

DCS: Syria Map

DCS: The Channel Map

DCS: UH-1H Huey

DCS: WWII Assets Pack

Su-33 for DCS World

Hawk T.1A for DCS World

I just want all of these in Open Beta without having to download them all again, as it is a significant chunk of data

The app, when configured correctly, will find all your modules. Even the community's Skyhawk, Goshawk and MB-339.
You didn't have to select the modules and click install. Well, I guess no harm.

Might have forgotten to mention that a repair, after you copied it, should be done.

The order of your actions:

1.

3. If you used another drive to install the Openbeta, be sure to enable this folder in your antivirus exception list.

"...is not authorised and will be disabled " The reason for this problem is caused by the actions of antivirus in 99% of such cases.
