Confusion on Waypoint making in SP and MP

I am a little confused about waypoint inclusion in missions in SP and MP.

I have watched YT videos and I think the below is correct.  Please comment or confirm.

In SP, I go to the Mission Editor and place up to 3 WPs and then the special F18 tactical points using the Navigation Target Points icon in the waypoint section to place an IP, FP, etc.  The key point is that all of these points are AUTOMATICALLY added to Jester so you do not have to import them.  Just tell Jester where to go.

However, in MP, it appears that there is a different method.  You have to mark the 3 regular waypoints (?) and the special F18 F14 points using the marker tool, then have Jester enter them in his system and finally, have Jester assign them to what you what to call them.  A three step process.

Is the above the correct procedure?

Not sure what you mean by F18, but generally speaking there are two methods to create waypoints and both work the same in SP and MP.

Method 1): The mission designer creates the waypoints in the mission editor by creating a flight plan. Special waypoints (HB, ST, FP, IP, HA, DP) need to be created using the special function as seen in the picture below.
Method 2): When playing the mission the player can create new waypoints by placing markers on the F10 map, giving them the respective names (WP1, WP2, WP3, HB, ST, ...) and then tell Jester to copy them.

Both methods work the same way in SP as they do in MP, although for Method 1 you need to be the mission designer of course.

That's exactly what happens in DCS too: If the mission designer creates a flight plan with more than 3 regular waypoints (let's say 10 waypoints), then all 10 WP will be shown on the kneeboard. The first 3 will also be entered into the Tomcats NAV system at the start. If the Tomcat now reaches WP1, the RIO will go ahead and overwrite the coordinates of WP1 with the coordinates of WP4 of his kneeboard. Upon reaching WP2 he will overwrite the coordinates of WP2 with the coordinates of WP5 from his kneeboard. Ando so it goes on untill reaching the end of the flight plan at WP10 or whatever WP it is.

Flying with Jester you have to tell him to do this of course, as he won't just overwrite your WPs without your permission. Flying with a human RIO in MP, he can do it all by himself without the pilot having to worry about it.
