Baz000 Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 It looks like when you kneel the aircraft the launch bar doesn't touch onto the ground and it maybe should? Also, maybe looks like the nose gear strut when in the kneeled position in DCS looks extended a bit too high? The bottom of the Oleo is well under the top of the nose gear tire in this video.
Baz000 Posted November 18, 2021 Author Posted November 18, 2021 (edited) I also found footage of launch bar only lowering when the wheel is moved, ah it can also by lowered by hand by the deck crew too! Edited November 18, 2021 by Baz000
draconus Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 From the B NATOPS, you can read that with the nose strut extended, the launch bar is held in the retracted position. The launch bar can be lowered by kneeling the aircraft and turning the nosewheel greater than ±10° from the centered position. The launch bar can also be lowered by the deck crew with no pilot action after the aircraft has been kneeled. I also noticed the slightly raised launch bar (doesn't fit well to the cat) and front wheels off the ground/deck by about an inch when kneeled.
