Ian Boys UK Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 When I'm flying and the HUD is SOI I sometimes want to hand off a point using the HUD designator. For example I see a SAM launch and want to quickly mark that point and slew my TGP over there. However it is often not in the HUD but miles behind. How can I recage it to the flight path marker please so it is in my forward view? Thanks for any help!
ZeroReady Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 TMS down? Not sure but that is usually the answer in the F-16.
ZeroReady Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Actually I don't think the HUD TD box can be re caged, I think it always has to be on a steerpoint until you move it. 1
Frederf Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Use DTOS or a mark point by HUD or HMCS. TD box exists in world-space not on the HUD. Maybe you could enter SP and slew but that's not the right tool for the job. Visual markpoint for a bookmark or DTOS for an immediate attack with HMCS is the right tool for the job. 1
inexus Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 I got the same issue which I raised in another thread. Wondering if this is by design or a bug that should be raised. Perhaps we simply have to wait for DTOS... 1 13900@5.8Ghz, Asus TUF 4090 OC, 64GB@6400mhz DDR5, 4K, TrackIR 5, Tobii, Virpil CM2, CM3 CH-47F | OH-58D | F-15E | F-16C | F/A-18C | A-10C | A-10C II | AV-8B | AH-64D | MI-24P | MI-8 | BS 2 | UH-1H | Mosquito | BF 109 | Spitfire | P-47D | CA | SC | WWII AP
