SHKVAL bug?

Every now and then my SHKVAL goes wild sweeping from side to side as well as up and down. Hitting the lock button doesnt stop the sweep like it does during a normal automated sweep which just goes from left to right? Shutting down the SHKVAL and other weapons systems doesnt rectify the problem either. The only way i can get it to function again is to restart the mission.

 

Has anybody else experienced this? is it a known bug? perhaps part of the input bug?
