CiniKo Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Someone could explain the difference between DHA (desidered heading angle) and DTA (desidered track angle)? And when to use one or another? danghiù! -LuKariello- -------------------- Fly high, Fly Fast! [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic6300_1.gif [/sIGPIC]
Madog Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 DHA lets the auto pilot fly directly towards the waypoint, DTA lets it fly the designated route (as planned in the mission editor)
Mad Dog 7.62 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I am having a real hard time getting my head around some of the nav stuff as well, I have not had time yet to really come to grips with it and study it. I am sure in the real world the manual for the ABRIS is quite large itself, and the same for the INS system. And that there are some pretty long ground school classes on the use of nav aids and the HSI etc. I am thinking of getting a real-world text on navigation to study. Maybe someone like BeechAV8R could write a how-to for us? h00t74 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Look at it this way. Basically the first one will fly you straight to the waypoint no matter where you are. The other flys to to the route to the next waypoint so you approach from the correct heading. Could me life or death if you are threading a needle between some Radar coverage.

GGTharos Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 Take your time, do it step by step and you'll get the hang of it relatively quick :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
