masonator Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Way back in my IL2 days, I used to do a bit of paint skinning. It's been a long time since then, but I am thinking that I'd like to have a go at skinning the Ka50. Does anybody know if there is a paint kit available for it?
mc_smile Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Not yet afaik. If it's ever be released. Skinners use default paint schemes to make mods. Correct me if i'm wrong It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice © Scooter Intel Core i7 8700K, Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5, 32Gb DDR4 CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 3200MHz, Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2080Ti Extreme, VKB Gunfighter MkII + TM HOTAS Warthog + TM MFD Panels, TrackIR5
Feuerfalke Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 If you are refering to a template, there was a very decent one released several weeks ago. You can download the file here: http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads&subcat=63 MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD

deviletk Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Don't think it can be anymore decent, it's a very good PSD... Agreed. Its the most professional template ive seen in my days. Layers for precisely everything. That ED released it to us is just too good to be true. :) Regards Alex "Snuffer" D. crazysundog Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 What program should I have to paint... Would Gimp be o.k., or do i need to buy a good program??
Outlawed Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 I am starting out skinning with adobe.I havent tried gimp yet.I was glad to see that they released that paint kit. Thanks ED. 1
deviletk Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 ...sure people can make their own... They sure can. But to make a skin template from scratch in that quality ED gave us. That would take some time... I think i stick to ED's myself. :) Just get in there somewhere under the wear&tear/rivets/lines layers and add something new. ;) @crazysundog I dont know GIMP either im afraid. I have worked with Photoshop over 10 years in my daily work and that is what i use. I love the layer handling in it. Maybe GIMP is the same, maybe not. The layer technique is what makes a graphic program powerful imo and PS cost some serious money. Cheaper version, but still very good, is Adobe Elements. If you seriously want to start doing things like skinning and other graphics i would recommend Elements. I think its around 70£. Or if GIMP does the same job for free, then go with that. :) Regards Alex "Snuffer" D. AMD FX8350 (8 core) 4.1GHZ ::: 8GB Dominator 1600mhz ::: GTX660 2GB ::: 2xHD ::: 24" ASUS
