RapidFir3 Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 Shouldn't a shot with a cannon armed with HE rounds kill nearby infantry soldiers ? I mean insn't HE rounds supposed to be fragmenting highly when impacting so that everyone near should be affected aswell. In one mission i played today there was group of infantry soldiers with AK:s. I shot with cannon HE and i needed to fire individually every one of them. They were like radius of couple of meters of each other. Callsign Lycanthrope79
nemises Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 I've had the opposite happen where a single burst was enough to kill 4 infantry. I was near max range for the cannon though, so my spread cone would have been quite wide.

Bear in mind in real life they'd be able to take cover in folds in the ground or a fox hole! I guess not having highly fragmenting 30mm rounds balances this out. Having said that though, in a mission I made one burst flattend four closely spaced soldiers quite realisticly!:) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Great minds think alike; idiots seldom differ.":pilotfly: i5 3750K@4.3Ghz, MSI Z77A GD55, 8GB DDR3, Palit GTX 670, 24" Benq@1920*1080, X52 Pro, Win 7 64bit.
masonator Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Well, here's a youtube video of a similar cannon, the Bushmaster II 30mm Mk44: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okeKX8HqpIQ You can see that the HE rounds do quite a lot of damage to exposed infantry.
