Gauges in the Tomcat are blurry, not unreadable, but take far more concentration to read than a quick glance because they are blurry or I have to lean in to read labels (on the radios or to set the gun count). Any recommendations? Thanks.

Playing with the following:

Quest 2

Ryzen 5 3600

32 GB Ram

Nvidia RTX 3080

If you're not using Kegety/speed of heats VR shader mods then I'd recommend them, you'll gain fps and the albedo texture sampling makes the cockpit text quite a bit clearer.

I don’t do any mods but I have noticed sharper cockpits by selecting High Performance mode in the WMR settings. Try it and don’t forget to restart wmr after any changes applied. SOH said the same thing and I did notice it.

Interestingly I tried testing out high performance over visual quality mode and it looked terrible, like fsr set to 20% render resolution.  Is this the setting on the desktop wmr portal app or in the wmr steamvr menu?  I am running 60hz but I don't think that should affect it?

Yes it’s in WMR general settings. Should be the same in wmr for Steam. That’s weird because I noticed alittle more sharper in the Tomcat and Viper.

I'll have a play with it again, both on 90 and 60hz.

I have got it really clear and readable at the moment but for some odd reason cannot use high textures any more so I'm actually losing some text clarity.  It looked like it was really low resolution supersampled up, edges were somehow more aliased and blurry at the same time!  Perhaps there is a different preset for 60hz compared to 90hz, thrud's dcs vr guide says that visual quality is reduced with 60hz mode but I've never seen that at all (when using high quality WMR).

Down the wormhole we go again 😄

I'm stand alone not Steam, so changing the steam settings won't help me. I should've mentioned it in my initial post. I did try changing the pixel density in the occulus software and that helped. I had changed it in DCS and saw no difference, I hadn't thought to try it in the Oculus software.
