M1Combat Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Anyone hear anything about the FoV? The specs look pretty amazing especially for it's size/weight... but I've seen nothing about FoV... Am I missing some deal breaker? Price maybe? speed-of-heat Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 FOV doesnt seem to be known at present Shiftall MeganeX: Full Specification - VRcompare (vr-compare.com) , but its not currently available and will cost about 900USD looking at the design I would not expect FOV to be particularly large my guess would be somewhere between 90 and 100 degrees SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
speed-of-heat Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 also looking at them as a company with 25 direct employees... i wonder at their ability to scale and or provide support... M1Combat Posted January 6, 2022 Author Posted January 6, 2022 (edited) Apparently it's only branded by that company but that seems for PR/exposure/hype reasons... It's actually made by Samsung as far as I understand. Samsung is the parent company as well... Rosebud47 Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Just stumbled over this Video of CES, in which this headset showed up. Doesn´t look like a bigger FOV than the regular, as it would need extended lenses to the outer left of left lense and outer right of right lense. But doesn´t look bad at all. I´ll wait for the new Valve VR headset (Deckard), before thinking of upgrading my G2. AH-64D Apache / F-16C Viper / F1 Mirage / Mi-24 Hind / F-14b Tomcat
M1Combat Posted January 7, 2022 Author Posted January 7, 2022 I don't feel super cramped at 110 myself... I mean the sweet spot is more important for me really. I was just curious if anyone knew. I'm not sure I'd be ok less than 110... I'd rather see more for sure but 110 is super usable. I did see at least one pic where it almost looked like the round covers were removed almost like lense caps... and it appeared to be some form of lense behind that almost giving the impression there's an AR feature here as well. I'm not sure though... It was just one pic/render and I'm not 1000% sure what I was seeing. Panasonic, not samsung, and with a Qualcom XR1 , (quest 2 and currents ones XR2), not good....
