Let mission makers decide which ai plane model is used for a mod

As a mission designer with mods,
I want to be able to decide wich build in model is shown
in order to have players without the mod not see a su27 instead by example a uh60 mod.

Currently you can edit the "mission" file and make mod not being required. but it would be a very well addition to have a mission maker decide on which 3d model is shown. IMO it should be done by the mission maker and not ED, as ED is not associated with any mod!

Now if you would fly an UH60L mod it would still show an Su27..... having a Su27 VTOL is kinda weird.

example:

["modMapping"] =
{
     ["UH-60L"] = "UH60",
     ["ModName"] = "AI-Model",
}

I figure good mod support will help dcs in the long run. As I said in the A-4 thread even if we never get a commercial A-4 people are apt to buy the south Atlantic map or the F-8 because they want to do missions with the A-4.

Some thoughts on mods, and the reason something like this is so important.

There are a few reasons to have a mod in DCS.

  1. What if vehicles- a 1990s Iowa refit or the F-20 would fit in this area.
  2. Items without enough information- either too new or too old
  3. things that are in DCS yet
  4. fictional / sci fi

Out of the categories 3 is the only one where anything official and community assets will affect each other. For example if we either get a playable Iowa module or the Iowas added as AI assets I'd expect the community Iowas to disappear. Though we might see them work on what ifs like the USS Kentucky or the 1990s refit. I don't expect commercial developers to do an official A-4E but maybe we'd see an M or a K. Better mod support is important
