pampa14 Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 Brazilian A-4 Skyhawks are still operational and in action. The link below brings an extensive report on the operation and modernization program of the Brazilian A-4s, as well as tons of photos. I recommend the visit, well-written report, with text rich in details and many detailed photos of the aircraft. http://aviacaoemfloripa.blogspot.com/2022/01/falcoes-do-mar-em-florianopolis.html Best regards!
MiG21bisFishbedL Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 I'd suspect one of the greatest reasons for this is to maintain some level of carrier operation experience since the retirement of the Sao Paulo. Having the A-4s on hand to build that experience and maintain currency will keep this kind of flight education active for the Brazilian Navy until the point they acquire more contemporary aircraft. I'd still expect the TA-4s to hang on for a time, just like they did with the US Navy. Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!
