DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

There's an IFF unit in the plane, but it's function is to make sure you show up as friendly to others.
If you want to IFF something, you've got to rely on the good old mk1 eyeball

IRL yes.
In DCS it has no function and does nothing.
