Prophet Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 I know it was said before that when you uninstall that you could recover the activation. Considering most of my menus in SF are ??????'s, is anyone able to provide some help?
EvilBivol-1 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 You can't recover activations. You can deactivate the product and then reactivate. That way, you simply keep the same activation you had before. For a simple re-install, you should not need any more activations. Activations should only be required when hardware/OS has changed. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. The Parable of Jane's A-10 Forum Rules
Shrubbo Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 in bin/stable there is a file called protect.exe. Run that and deactivate then uninstall/add hardware/whatever and then you can re-activate I believe. Please note I have not actually tried this myself but I think that is how to do it.... or I could be 100% wrong :) i9-9900K,Z390 Aorus Master, 32GB GSkill Trident F4-3600 DDR4, ROG Strix RTX 2080 Ti, Oculus Rift S. Prophet Posted December 6, 2008 Author Posted December 6, 2008 I upgraded MoBo, CPU and RAM. So I must burn an activation? These 3 are going to go quick...
tusler Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 (edited) Try this There was a post on this but I cannot find it but I did print it out. 1. click protect.exe with admin rights and select deactivate & click next. 2.On This product requires activation screen enter serial # and press OK. then press AeakTNBNpoatb to start the deactivation. For the next steps you need an internet connection 3. A screen opens warning DCS will be deactivated. and after deactivation you will not be able to use it until you reactivate it. Press the top selection AeakTNBNpoatb Then you get a last warning screen press the top selection marked Aa to deactivate DCS. Then you get another screen with an OK button on the top right and a box on the bottom with a code in it. Write down the code in the box on the bottom, it is your deactivation number and you will need it to reactivate DCS. The next time you activate it use the syntax: Your Serial Number : Deactivation code Here you go : How to deactivate DCS.pdf I think the original post was done by kaos.dll if you have questions. Hope this helps Edited December 6, 2008 by tusler 1 Ask Jesus for Forgiveness before you takeoff :pilotfly:! Prophet Posted December 6, 2008 Author Posted December 6, 2008 Thank you very much Tusler. That was exactly what I was looking for. This should be added to the FAQ, IMO.
