Tiramisu Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Even with the entire firewall disabled there I get the same problem. After trying many possible solutions, I can see that is very likely the problem on ED's side. Right now DCS 2.5.6 is the only available version on Steam that can be used as a rollback, i.e. a support for this version is not too much asked for. Instead, map modules are unplayable because of some silly encryption bug. If ED wants our trust, then older backup versions of DCS must be supported. How do you know if there will be players in the future who have to roll back because of other reasons than their hardware? E.g. if Razbam modules like the Harrier break in future DCS versions. This is not acceptable. 20 hours ago, Rudel_chw said: Your video card is also 9-years old, updating to a newer card is probably a good idea ... it does not need to be an expensive preposition, I use a pretty old RTX-2080 that purchased 2nd hand for US$ 150 and has worked perfectly with DCS. I do not want to buy a new GPU, because at the moment it is only DCS that would require it. Other than that I am perfectly fine with my hardware. Currently I am playing DCS only occasionally, and in a few months I might not even have the time for it any more. So let us please stick to finding a solution for the actual problem. Offtopic discussions are not helpful.

You need to disable/make exclusions in the Anti-Virus software, not the firewall. Anti-Virus ≠ Firewall. Make exclusions and show me what you did, please. 2 hours ago, Tiramisu said: Right now DCS 2.5.6 is the only available version on Steam that can be used as a rollback, i.e. a support for this version is not too much asked for. Old software gets depricated all the time, how long should a version be supported when there is a newer release. Anyway, the support is not the case here. Something is obviously wrong on your end. Because that version has NEVER been changed since it was released. That's just that way it is. At the time that version was released, it was released from OpenBeta to Stable. Which means it is Stable. And if hadn't worked at the time, tons of other users had complained en masse. Did you change your swap files settings? Have you actually sent a support ticket to ED? They usually know how to fix these things. Support doesn't monitor this forum. Cheers! 1
Tiramisu Posted November 15 Posted November 15 (edited) I already wrote that I have no antivirus and I am not going to repeat myself any more. 9 minutes ago, MAXsenna said: Anyway, the support is not the case here. Your assumption ignores the possibility that ED's authorization system has changed by now and that this might be the reason why older versions do not work. It does not matter if DCS 2.5.6 is still the same. The support ticket is still running and has not concluded yet. Edited November 15 by Tiramisu

Doesn't this categorize it as a non issue for everybody? 4 minutes ago, Tiramisu said: I already wrote that I have no antivirus and I am not going to repeat myself any more. Be kind for those trying to help on their own free time without being paid. Everyone has an anti virus on Windows 10/11. It is called, Windows Defender. Unless you're on a different Windows without it Edited November 15 by Czar 1 1

But are you sure? Windows Defender is Anti-Virus. It can't be uninstalled. You can either disable it or install another Anti-Virus solution. Anyway, it should not matter as the files should hopefully be whitelisted by now. 6 minutes ago, Tiramisu said: The support ticket is still running and has not concluded yet. Cool! Have you tried to change the page file? It saves fixes like 60% of the issues brought up here. Edited November 15 by MAXsenna

No, I already explained that other players might want to roll back if e.g. Razbam modules break. On top of that nobody should be forced to update their hardware just because DCS hardware requirements increase over time. It is not too much asked to support older versions. From now on I am not going to respond to these offtopic discussions any more, because they contribute absolutely nothing to solving this bug. Edited November 15 by Tiramisu

Excluding massive $ developers like Valve. 5 minutes ago, Tiramisu said: From now on I am not going to respond to these offtopic discussions any more, because they contribute absolutely nothing to solving this bug. In a few months it will be meaningless for you, as you said. Just move on. Cheers 4
