twistking Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 Hello, sometimes during warm-up, or during take-off/climb the oil temperature gauge "breaks" and the needle is not visible anymore. any idea how that might happen, how to avoid it and what's the technical reason behind this weird behaviour? when this happens the engine will still run and provide "enough" power, but i think it runs less smooth with more vibrations etc. (maybe that's only my imagiantion though) Thanks. grafspee Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 (edited) Can you show screen from this, i know that in some cases CB pops up making oil temp gauge dead, while other still works. Can you associate this oil temp gauge issue with apply of throttle on the ground, when rpm goes above ~1500 when generator kick in ?? peachmonkey Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 yup, like @grafspee said it's a CB breaker failure, look on the CB panel (near left foot), you'll see one of the buttons extending out (top right corner of the panel). Just push it down. to prevent this from happening make sure not to twist "Instrument light" rheostat (#9 on the picture) all the way to the right, i.e don't set it at 3 o'clock (i.e. max), instead set it at 2 o'clock. 1

But i think you are spot on with RPM above 1500. At least once it happens when i was opening the throttle to start the take-off... the other times i did not notice exactly when it happened... Thanks for the reply! 2 minutes ago, peachmonkey said: yup, like @grafspee said it's a CB breaker failure, look on the CB panel (near left foot), you'll see one of the buttons extending out (top right corner of the panel).
